Hastings High School Choirs

Lin Warren has taught vocal music for 25 years at Hastings High School. He received a Bachelor of Music from Hastings College, Hastings, Nebraska and a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In 1988 he received the Outstanding Young Choral Director Award from the Minnesota Chapter of American Choral Directors Association and in 1989 was selected as “Teacher of the Year” and in 2009 he was selected “Employee of the Year” for the Hastings Public School System. His choirs have been selected to appear at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Convention, the American Choral Director Association of Minnesota Convention, the Divisional Music Educators National Conference Convention, and the 2010 Choral Arts Finale. He has held many positions in the American Choral Directors Association. He was the Assistant Convention Chair for the 2005 National American Choral Directors Association Convention in Los Angeles and is currently the Assistant Convention Chair for the 2011 National American Choral Directors Convention in Chicago.

Kathleen Hanson recieved a B.S. in K-12 Vocal Music Education from Moorhead State University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Northern Colorado. Mrs. Hanson performed and toured extensively with the Ensemble Singers of VocalEssence from 1994 - 2003. Prior to teaching in Hastings, Mrs. Hanson was the director of choral activities at Chisago Lakes High School. During the summer months she often works with musical theatre productions.

Tatum Mahlen received her Bachelor of Music from the University of South Dakota. Prior to teaching at Hastings High School, she taught at Mitchell High School in Mitchell, SD where she taught choir and music theory, assisted with marching band, was the co-director of the spring musical and was also the director of the show choir “Friend de Coup”. She was recently the ACDA R&S chair for show choir in South Dakota.

Stephanie Lundmark graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. In 2009, she earned the ETS Recognition of Excellence award for high teaching licensure test scores, which shows dedication to holding high standards for students in education. This is currently her first teaching experience as the director of the Hastings Divaz show choir. In high school, Stephanie was involved heavily in show choir. A graduate of Totino-Grace class of 2004, she has been involved in show choir for 8 years.
