- Select Chorale is one of five outstanding high school choirs chosen for the 5th Annual Choral Arts Finale
and will be performing at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis on Sunday, April 18 @ 7:30 pm
The Hastings Senior High School Vocal Music Department
Hastings Senior High School has an enrollment of 1900 students grades 9-12. The vocal music department has around 400 students singing in one or more of the nine choirs. Two of the four auditioned choirs - Bel Canto Singers and Select Chorale rehearse every day for 45 minutes while the other two Concert Choir and Women's Chorus rehearse every other day. Men's Chorus (Freshmen and Sophomore Men) and Freshmen Women's Chorus, the two non-auditioned choirs, also rehearse every other day. Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Riverside Company, Upstage Revolution and Divaz rehearse outside of the school day approximately twice a week. The choirs at Hastings High School are under the direction of Kathleen Hanson, Tatum Mahlen and Lin Warren
